Dr Mimi Ajibadé FCG

Founder & Principal, AI Accountability & Governance Risk

Dr Mimi Ajibadé is a corporate governance and AI governance specialist with more than 25 years' experience advising organisations on governance, accountability, oversight and decision-making.
She is the founder of Cogent Governance & Risk. Her work focuses on the governance challenges created when authority, decision-making and execution are delegated across organisations, including through increasingly autonomous technologies and AI systems.
Mimi has held senior governance roles in FTSE 50 listed companies, private businesses, SMEs and not-for-profit organisations, with responsibility for board governance, subsidiary governance, governance assurance, regulatory frameworks and organisational accountability.

A Fellow of the Chartered Governance Institute, she holds a PhD in Corporate Law and Governance and has written extensively on governance practice, board accountability and emerging governance challenges. Her current work explores the intersection between corporate governance, AI governance and delegated authority.

She has contributed feature and technical articles to Governance Magazine and has provided thought leadership on governance, ESG, accountability and organisational decision-making.
 

Formerly, Mimi served as a Trustee of Chatham House (the Royal Institute of International Affairs) for seven and a half years. During her tenure she chaired the Next Generation Committee and served on the Finance Committee, Nominations Committee and Equalities, Diversity and Inclusion Panel.
She remains a member of Chatham House.

Mimi is proficient in written and spoken Mandarin, has working knowledge of Yoruba, and some knowledge of Hausa.
